He was awarded the O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2007 Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday Honors List for his services to drama.

He was an actor, known for Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), Last of the Summer Wine (1973) and The Wrong Trousers (1993). He was married to Elaine Usher.
